This year for Mother's Day, Matt and I decided to make something for our moms. A while ago, my mom told me that she wanted to get a memo board for her office so that she could have a place for pictures at work. Storing this away in the back of my mind, I searched for memo boards that I thought she would like. Having come up empty, I thought that making one could not be that difficult.
Sure enough it was easy peasy.
We each picked out a fabric that we thought our moms would like and gathered the other supplies necessary. Now, this post isn't a tutorial because once I started working on the boards, I didn't stop to take pictures along the way. Hey, I had good intentions but I guess I was easily distracted by my creation. If you want to make one, plenty of tutorials will come up if you just spend a few minutes online searching for something like "make your own french memo board".
Materials list:
Canvas (the kind you paint on; I used an 18x24)
Fabric (I bought 1 yard for each but only used 1/2 a yard for each)
Quilting Batting
Cover Buttons (kits sold at Joann's Fabrics; use leftover fabric scraps)
Ribbon
Hot Glue
Thread
Needle
Staple Gun/Staples
This turned out to be the perfect Mother's Day gift this year... we know two grandmothers who will be needing a place to display pictures of a new grandchild very soon!
AND I love this!!!!! I found the perfect wall in my office to share my family with others! Watch out Falls peeps, I am about to be more obnoxious about my kids and grands than ever! :)
